Continent of Europe -- Shapes in the Eiffel Tower
Goals and Objectives:
Assessment: Note shapes observed by students during the virtual field trip to the Eiffel Tower. Ask students to identify shapes they are using as they are completing their drawings. Evaluate students ability to draw and model shapes in their own drawings. |
Tips for Teachers
In order for the entire class to view the photos from your iPad easily you will most likely want to project them using a large monitor or screen. This may be done by using the mirroring ability of your iPad in connection with an Apple TV device or by using a VGA adaptor to connect with a projector system. Some classrooms may have an electronic whiteboard that can serve as a screen for your iPad mirroring, while others may have a TV that may serve such a purpose. If you do not have either of these options in your classroom, perhaps your school or program might consider having an AV cart with a projector or large screen TV that classrooms may share, moving into and out of specific classrooms as needed.
If you have a projector, the correct VGA adaptor will allow you to connect your iPad directly to the projector. Keep in mind that if you want to hear any sounds from the iPad you will most likely need to have external speakers to plug into the headphone jack as well. To use an Apple TV device your building needs to support a WiFi network. The Apple TV device is connected to your TV or projector and you can wirelessly show what is happening on the iPad using the AirPlay connection in your onscreen settings panel. Resources:
